We are happy to say that The Lilies are back on track with our Summer programme. This Wednesday June 11th we will dancing in front of St Brelades Parish Hall at 8pm for approximately 45 minutes. If it rains heavily we may not be there as no one wants to watch a wilting lily but otherwise we are a hardy bunch.
The Jersey Lilies celebrated a warm and sunny May Day 2025 by dancing in all of our twelve parishes with our Tour de Tours. We were creative and managed to find a tower of sorts in each of the parishes. We were joined for part of the day by Helier Morris and it was good to see them out and about again. Our large photo shows our penultimate parish where we revived ourselves with cake and prosecco. Note the one remaining Helier man who made it to the final parish. Our final dances were at the Portelet Inn where landlady Hazel revived us with essential vittles. We all agreed that this was one of our sunniest May Days yet from start to finish.
Some of the many photos and videos taken during the day
Hello everyone. We have been quiet because we were busy practising for our forthcoming season and getting ready for our first public appearance of our season.
Here is our May Day programme for Thursday May 1st which is our traditional 12 parish programme to welcome the arrival of Spring. It is loosely based on various towers around the island. We say loosely because some of the towers are not where we want them to be so we have been creative with our planning.

In June 2024 The Jersey Lilies were invited to take part in the Lamb Ale at Kirtlington, Oxfordshire.
One of the ancient Whitsun Ales (aka festival), the Lamb Ale can be traced back to the early 1600’s, and took the form of a village festival and feast.
Morris dancers were always closely associated with the festivities. When Kirtlington Morris was revived in 1979, based on Cecil Sharp’s notes from early this century, it was fitting that they join with the village to help recreate the atmosphere of the Lamb Ale as it once was, with as many as twenty or more morris sides gathered together in celebration, if not in the rivalry and competition, of the earlier days.
We performed several times over the weekend and were introduced to a wide variety of regional styles of Morris with sides from across the country.
